Read Between the Lines

In Twelfth Night, one of Shakespeare's most celebrated comedies, the bard (through the guise of Duke Orsino) revels in the wonders of music as "food for the soul." I could not agree more.

When I run out of words, I let the music speak for or talk to me.

When I feel bored or am getting nauseous with redundant daily activities, music serves as a creative distraction.

When I am utterly demotivated, music provides some glimmer of inspiration and, more often than not, brings back my enthusiasm for the life ahead of me.

Right now, I am experiencing all of the above: shortage of words, boredom, nausea, and utter demotivation. My only respite - online games, mangas, animes, occasional get-togethers and an inspirational book aside - is music. It has the ability to convey my suppressed thoughts and emotions in a nutshell. Say, three to four minutes at the very least.

Music is a gift from Him. He knows there is a limit to how much we can endure life on earth. Thus He bestows on us tunes, which, enmeshed with such profound words, have the ability to heal millions of wounded souls.

We might have different tastes in music, but why not give some of these songs a shot? You will understand yourself better if you do. I know I did. Remember to read between the lines or everything else will sound gibberish.

Now the countdown begins...

It's pretty easy when you let music do the talking, right? I'm heaving a sigh of relief myself. It saves me the trouble of ranting out here and spreading negative energy.
